Card 0/1000 comes home

A little less than one week ago I made a quick doodle on Card 0/1000 and dropped it in the mail. This was a test. Having had some bad luck in the past with the reliability of the USPS, I wanted to get a clear picture of how long it would take for mailed cards to arrive as well as what sort of physical shape the cards were in on arrival.

I stopped by the PO Box today and lo-and-behold, there was my card! As I expected, the USPS added a few different metering stamps to both the front and back of the card but nothing worth any concern.

A test of the USPS

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s never trust things will work out the way they are supposed to. Okay, so maybe that’s a bit melodramatic but the reality is, in my life at least, things don’t often happen in the manner I had hoped, planned or expected… especially when dealing with the United States Postal Service.

Before I start distributing the pile of 1,000 white cards which are sitting patiently in a box to my right, I thought I should clear up any final worries I have and simply drop a test card in the mail. I’m curious to see how long it takes to find its way into the PO Box and what sort stamps/printing the USPS adds to postcards these days which could ultimately interfere with the artwork on the cards.

So let’s bid farewell (at least for a short while) to card 0/1000. I’ll post an update when it arrives back at the PO Box.
